Mozoba, who was returned unopposed by 10 out of the 13 separate unions that make up the Alaba International Market Association, said he has extended olive branches to all feuding members for peace to reign.
The market has been enmeshed in deep crisis, including leadership tussle, power play and supremacy war for sometime. The Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS) and even soldiers have separately intervened at some point.
But Mozoba in his acceptance speech, after the election, said his executive would leave no stone unturned to ensure that normalcy returns to the biggest electrical, electronics and allied products market in West Africa.
Mozoba, who now doubled as Chairman of Fancy &Furniture Dealers’ Association as well as the boss of the amalgamated union, the umbrella body of all the associations in the market, said: “We are all brothers and sisters and history will not be kind to us if we ruin the reputable international market our fathers left for us.”
He further noted that he would stamp out importers of fake products in the market and enhance security of lives in the market. Other elected members of the new executives include the deputy chairman, High Chief Igwe Chinedu; Secretary-General, Emeka Onyiam; Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mohammed Buba; and Assistant Secretary, Mike Soje.
