Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has embarked on massive construction of roads in the three senatorial districts of the state.
This, according to the state government, is in line with the determination of Akeredolu to fulfill his electioneering promises of special focus on road construction and rehabilitation.
A landlord in Owo, Chief Babajide Adefila, described the intervention as a sign of a government prepared to justify the confidence reposed in it.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, said priority would be given to roads with heavy traffic. Akeredolu commended the federal government for committing more money to capital projects and infrastructural development, rather than spending on frivolities.
Meanwhile, the governor yesterday hailed the victory of former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, at the Court of Appeal, Akure.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Mr Segun Ajiboye, the governor said “the 79-page judgment delivered by Justice Muhammed Danjuma was well deserved, a triumph for democracy and light over darkness.’’
